Description
Press release from the Solano Community College:
June 4, 2022
AB 705 (Irwin 2017) requires colleges to use students' high school grades in English and math, and overall Grade Point Average (GPA) for college English and Math placement, places restrictions on requiring students to enroll in remedial courses, and recommends colleges replace overly-long remedial course sequences with co-requisite or supplemental instruction models in which students receive additional support while enrolled in a transferable, college-level class. Under the law, colleges must place students into courses that maximize the probability that they will enter and complete transfer-level coursework in English and mathematics within one-year of enrollment.
