Series Partners: Augusta Economic Development, Augusta Technical College, Augusta University, Development Authority of Columbia County, and the Vineyard Church Storehouse Cafe Speakers: Tom Sammon, GaMEP Project Manager Tom is a project manager for GaMEP, based in Carrollton, and focuses on implementing Lean manufacturing practices and helping companies develop capital equipment applications. He has 15 years of experience in the industrial automation and machine building fields. He worked as a project manager implementing equipment systems into Lean environments throughout North America. Previously Sammon’s work focused on discrete manufacturing, ranging from metalworking and welding with the Panasonic Robotics Group, to high-speed packaging for companies like Procter & Gamble and Colgate-Palmolive. He is an active member of the faculty group Robotics & Intelligent Machines at Georgia Tech (RIM@GT) and is on the Board of Advisors at West Georgia Technical College’s Industrial Electronics degree program. Brad Wood, GaMEP Project Manager Brad Wood helps clients achieve their goals through strategic lean implementation, transformation projects, and process improvement. Brad’s broad range of experience allows him to work effectively with many different industries and processes, from production and distribution to back-end administrative functions and non-traditional operations. His expertise lies in Lean Strategy and Deployment, Continuous Improvement, Leadership Development, Lean Six Sigma, Kaizen, SMED, Management Operating Systems, and Developing Problem Solvers Throughout an Organization. He has an MBA from the University of Georgia, a B.S. in Industrial Engineering from Mississippi State University. and a Lean Six Sigma Black Belt from Georgia Tech. *This lunch and learn educational series will deliver actionable tips and tools of the trade specifically designed to help Georgia Manufacturers grow their business.
