Press release from the Jefferson Parish Government: June 2, 2022 METAIRIE, LA – A new series of nine genealogy classes will be held at 1 p.m. on Wednesdays beginning June 15, at the East Bank Regional Library, 4747 W. Napoleon, Metairie. These presentation is free of charge and open to the public. Registration is not required. The new series of classes replace the one originally scheduled by Sal Serio, curator of the American Italian Research Center, who died on Monday, May 23. The volunteer speakers listed below are all friends of Serio's and they felt that the continuation of his courses was a good way to honor the many years of service he devoted to genealogical issues. 1 p.m., Wednesday, June 15 – Bringing Your Ancestors to Life with Rhonda Roederer. 1 p.m., Wednesday, June 22 – Obstacle or Opportunity: Pathway to Genealogy Gems with Rhonda Roederer. 1 p.m., Wednesday, June 29 – Orleans Archdiocese Records with Jack Belsom. 1 p.m., Wednesday, July 6 – Census Records with Rhonda Roederer. 1 p.m., Wednesday, July 13 – Become a Tombstone Tourist with Rhonda Roederer.
