In the course of the 2-day workshop, participants learn to:
Understand the ways personal & societal attitudes affect views on suicide & interventionsProvide guidance & suicide first-aid to a person at risk in ways that meet their individual safety needsIdentify the key elements of an effective suicide safety plan & the actions required to implement itAppreciate the value of improving & integrating suicide prevention resources in the community at largeRecognize other important aspects of suicide prevention including life-promotion & self-careCEUs will be available through the Board of Nursing, as well as STCs for correctional & probation staff.
Morning refreshments & lunch will be provided at no cost for participants each day. Attendance at both days of training is required.
