Description

Ventura Rotary's annual Fireworks Show & Family Picnic at Ventura College is back! This year the event will be held the evening of SUNDAY, JULY 3rd! The Ventura Fireworks Show & Family Picnic is a celebration of family, community and country! Spread across several acres of beautiful lawn at the Ventura College Athletic Fields, the event includes a spectacular pyrotechnics show, live music, food trucks, a huge kids’ Fun Zone, and what's been called the friendliest hometown picnic in America!  Ventura Rotary's 2022 Fireworks Show on Sunday, July 3rd is presented by The Trade Desk and Wheelhouse, and 100% of the event net proceeds benefit community programs right here in Ventura! Gates open at 5 pm. Fireworks show begins at approximately 9 pm.  Adults tickets are $10, with a "pre-sale" discounted price of $8 until June 27th. Child's ticket is $5 (ages 4-12). A "Family 4-Pack" ticket is available here on Eventbrite (not sold at gate). Children 3 years of age and under are free. (Eventbrite fees do apply.) You may bring picnic items, including blankets, soft folding chairs, small coolers and food. Small personal umbrellas are allowed, however pop-ups and large umbrellas are not allowed. Any form of camp stove or barbecue are not allowed. Please remember: No glass. No alcohol. No pets. All bags and coolers will be searched at entry. (See FAQ below for more details) The Kids Zone will feature a Giant Slide and several inflatable attractions, plus a few bounce houses just for toddlers. There will be some organized games for children such as sack races and 3-legged races. This year, thanks to our sponsors, the Kids Zone bounce houses are included with your ticket entry (no extra cost.) In addition to live music and special surprises, you can enjoy a tasty bite from several Ventura- and LA-based food trucks and food vendors!  From burgers to burritos to delicious barbecue and more, the food vendors will be serving up delectable main dishes and plus tasty sweets and desserts too! The fireworks show is a custom designed “Sky Concert” from the California-based experts at Pyro Spectaculars! MUCH MORE than a prepackaged show shipped from China and accompanied by some music, this “Sky Concert” will feature over 3,000 firework effects finely choreographed to a contemporary musical score.  It's a celebration of community told through song and firework effects. You can expect many “oohs” and “ahhs” and an up-close-and-personal view to an incredible fireworks show – oops, we mean, Sky Concert! After a two-year absence, this year will be extra special due to the dedication of our volunteers and the critical support of event sponsors. We give tremendous thanks to our presenting sponsor The Trade Desk, and major sponsor Wheelhouse. Please visit the event website, VenturaFireworks.com, to see a complete list of sponsors. Get your Red, White and Blue spirit ready because this event is going to be a blast, Ventura-style!FAQs  (Frequently Asked Questions)What are my parking options at the event? This year, there is a mix of paid and free parking available at Ventura College's various lots. PLEASE SEE THE EVENT PARKING MAP.   The West and South lots (closest to event entry gates) have a $5 parking fee (cash only.)   The North lot off of Loma Vista and the large East lot (corner of Day Rd. and Telegraph) are FREE to park.  If parking in the East lot, please walk along the Telegraph Road sidewalk and then walk right at Campus Way to access the event -- please DO NOT walk through the College complex which is off limits on this holiday and is patrolled. There is also limited street parking in the area. Handicap parking is available in the West and South fee lots, with additional handicap overflow in Lot V.   What can/can't I bring to the event? You can bring a picnic, including food, a small cooler, drinks (in plastic or aluminum), blankets and soft folding chairs. Small personal umbrellas are allowed, however pop-ups and large umbrellas are not allowed. Barbecues and stoves of any kind are NOT allowed. Food trucks and vendors will be available. You can bring your dancing shoes and positive attitude. NO glass. NO alcohol. NO pets. All bags will be inspected at entry. (And do we even need to say it?... NO drugs or smoking of any kind. NO weapons of any kind. NO fireworks, because ALL fireworks are illegal to possess in the City of Ventura!)   Where can I contact the organizer with any questions? To send us a message, visit www.VenturaFireworks.com and use the "Contact Us" form on the bottom of the page, or drop a private message on our Facebook page, Facebook.com/VenturaFireworks   Is my registration/ticket transferable? Yes, your ticket is good for admission for the holder of the ticket. IDs/names are not checked.  Also, the "Family 4-Pack" is valid for 4 people to enter (any ages), however all 4 persons MUST ENTER THE GATE TOGETHER.  Children ages 3 and under are free.  There is NO re-admittance after exiting the event. NO in-out privileges.   Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event? You must either bring your printed ticket or have the ticket's barcode displayed on your mobile phone.  Admission tickets/phones will be scanned at the entry gates.    What is the refund policy? There are no refunds. All ticket sales are final. Why do you charge an entry fee for this event? This event is NOT funded by the City or the College, though Ventura College is a truly gracious and amazing host location!  It's a beautiful campus and we are so grateful to hold this community event here!  The event is put on by 100% volunteers spearheaded by the Rotary Club of Ventura. Tickets sales do NOT cover the hard costs of putting on the event (a first-rate fireworks show isn't cheap!)  So the event is really made possible by you and by the generous business sponsors. Any net proceeds from the event go directly back into the community in the form of support for many charitable and community programs. For example, prior years' fireworks shows helped support Ventura's Coats for Kids project, the Dictionary Project for every 3rd grader in Ventura, Perspectives on Peace College Scholarships, the Boys & Girls Club, and local food pantries among others. Please understand that your ticket purchase not only makes the event possible, it also supports your community through the programs and charitable giving of The Rotary Club of Ventura. Thank you!
