In a time when so much of the world is wracked by war and conflict, we come together on World Refugee Day to celebrate the courage and resilience of refugees and to lift up our mutual wish for peace. World Refugee Day is also a day for engaging with our elected officials so that Georgia remains a place of peace and welcome for ALL refugees and immigrants building new lives in our state. Join the Coalition of Refugee Service Agencies (CRSA) at Refuge Coffee Co. in Clarkston on Saturday, June 25 from 10am – 12pm to meet your neighbors and engage with your federal and state elected leaders! Enjoy delicious food from local vendors, lots of family-friendly activities (with free books for kids!), and delicious tea and coffee drinks, as you hear from special guest speakers, gather information at our advocacy booth, experience incredible music and dance performances by community groups, and shop locally from refugee and immigrant business owners at our vendor’s market! You are also invited to help us create a beautiful mandala by contributing individual messages of peace. This will be a unique and heartfelt art piece that will last only as long as the event. All are welcome and please bring a friend or two, especially anyone who is new!
