Please join us Wednesday, June 22 from 7:00pm-8:30pm at Hope Church as we take the next step in our collective effort to shift the balance of power in our community so that ordinary people can have the voice and agency to address challenges related to housing, policing, jobs, food insecurity, discrimination, immigration, and other obstacles that many members of our community face.
Last month, more than 70 people gathered at the Holland Armory to learn one of the fundamental practices of community organizing: relational meetings. At the end of the training, we invited you to put the training into practice by doing 3 relational meetings. Whether you were able to complete those meetings or not, we invite you to join us on June 22 to learn how something as simple as one-to-one conversations can generate real and lasting power that opens the door to creating much needed change.
On June 22, you can expect:
To offer your reactions to learning about and practicing relational meetings last month.
To participate in a facilitated discussion about the goal of relational meetings: to build power.
To discuss together the way that power currently operates in our community, the need to build a different kind of power, and the changes that we would like to see in our community if we were able to build the power to make them happen.
