Mental health has been a topic of discussion in our nation, our state and our community. This is especially true when it comes to our young people. Please consider attending “Mental Health 101” this Wednesday, June 8th , starting at 6pm at Lebanon Lutheran Church. Presenters from HealthWest will help us understand the mental health challenges that we are faced with more and more. In this introduction to mental health, you will learn risk factors, protective factors, steps to assist those in need, resources, and knowing when to get help. We will also explore how to determine what is “normal” adolescent development vs. a mental health problem. These are sometimes tricky waters to navigate. Mental health concerns are not a personal weakness or a personality flaw. This is about the brain and how it can sometimes not work the way we wish it would. This presentation is open to anyone so we hope that you will join us. The “Mental Health 101” is just under an hour and there will be time for questions and answers in a group setting and one to one with HealthWest staff as well.
