Im Jubal. Im a 42 year old Austin native who volunteers 7 days a week at a soup kitchen that also provides showers and clothes. We havent had much to give in the way of clothes for awhile now, and I dont like seeing so many disappointed people or hearing so much fussing between homeless volunteers jaded from dealing with homeless people who think we owe them something and have a never- ending surplus of good clothes. Right now its summer obviously so summer clothes would be muchly appreciated. Belts are always needed. If you cant be choosy about your pants they dont fit right alot of the time. Shoes. Bags, rolling suitcases, hats, socks, bandannas...toiletries....take em to Angel House soup kitchen on Cezar Chaves one block East of IH 35 on the left @ San Marcos St. Theres a sign that says Austin Baptisst Chappel. Tell em i sent you. Again my names Jubal.
Also...books. I check em out from the library but cant let anyone borrow them having learned my lesson on that several times almost without fail awhile back. But theres an interest in them for sure. Theres literally never any donated there with the recent exception of several batches of Christian- oriented literature which aint everyones cup of tea.
Im not too certain on times. The window is bigger if you call ahead of time to let em know youll be coming.
