 The Commack Board of Ed has voted  to sign an agreement with Schacker Real Estate Corp. for the sale of Smiths Lane School and authorize the President of the Board to sign same." Steve Hartman is the Board President. In a Union Free School District, residents can vote to approve or disapprove the sale of school owned real property . Smith's Lane school ,located off of Walter Ct, is currently rented as a school by UCP. The soccer fields are used by our local leagues.  The people's right to know the process of governmental decision-making and to review the documents and statistics leading to determinations is basic to our society. Access to such information should not be thwarted by shrouding it with the cloak of secrecy or confidentiality.Public Officers Law § 84 for the State of New York
