Material Control Supervisor Major Transportation Company based in New Haven, CT. is seeking an experienced Material Control Supervisor to join their team. Responsibilities will include but are not limited to compiling, maintaining, and expediating material parts inventory and status information between production areas. Reading and monitoring inventory reports, shop orders & production schedules to determine materials required, stock availability, and order priority. Will oversee the movement of parts, verify part numbers, troubleshoot discrepancies, execute action sheets, and act as Liaison between Purchasing and Production Engineering. Candidates must have excellent written and oral communication skills, prior experience in planning materials in rail cars or similar industries, be proficient in English and Metric Measurement Systems, and have a proven record in materials and interdepartmental coordination. A College Degree in Materials, Logistics, Manufacturing, or similar is a plus. Candidates will be in good physical condition, able to lift min 40 lbs. and climb ladders and stairs.
