Description

i play guitar. want to make somewhat weird stuff but keep it at least semi-palatable for potential listeners. my tastes range from spacey classic/prog rock such as Pink Floyd/Can/King Crimson, to post-punk like the Cure/Joy Division, to 90's indie guitar rock like Sonic Youth/Pavement/Pixies, among other things. i use two amps to get those stereo reverb and delay swooshies floating around the room. ideal situation would be someone on bass and someone to make the beats with drums or electronics and maybe after we get some things going we can decide to add a vocalist and/or other instruments. i'd also consider joining established projects or new projects that have already gotten started without me but need some extra flavor. i don't want to play with another guitarist because i find it easier to carve out my space within a band better that way. i've always liked a one guitar, one bass, one beat-maker formula for the instrumentation of a project. i prefer jamming on ideas to people showing up with fleshed out 'song' ideas and ordering others to play something specific. i wouldn't be opposed to an improvisation-focused band either. Or like weird ambient soundscape jams, that would be cool too. i don't have a place to jam but there are plenty of rental options around town and i've been in a few that were fine and not too expensive. about me: I am 43, playing since i was 12. Not a virtuoso but I can hold my own. Not interested in 'professionalism' or 'chops' or whatever. I just want to make cool, weird music with some cool, weird people.
