Description
Champ is a handsome, active mastiff mix, who is estimated to be 1-2 years old, weighs about 60 pounds, and is that Jackson County Animal Shelter, waiting for his new home. This affectionate, happy guy likes to chase balls and sometimes bring them back to you. He likes playing with other dogs, but his rambunctious playstyle may be too much for some dogs and could knock down small children. Therefore, he should meet any other dogs and young kids in his next home, prior to adoption, to make sure he is a good fit. In his previous home, Champ was mostly kept outside and lived with another dog. He recently spent some time in a foster home, where he adjusted quickly to living in a home and learned some house manners, but didn't get along with the resident dog. Champ is generally friendly with people he meets but can be selective, especially with men. Because is a strong, adult-sized puppy, consistent training and regular exercise will be important for him to be successful in his next home. Champ does pretty well on a leash with a harness and likes going for walks in the neighborhood. He's eager to please and takes corrections well, which makes him easy to train. Champ's adoption fee is $150, plus $25 for an annual dog license, if you live in Jackson County.
