Description
On this rainy Christmas all is merry and bright at The Children's Center of Hamden! STARS, those who shopped for the children, donated money and held toy drives, have created an exciting holiday morning for every child at the Center. "The holiday spirit shown by our donors is a welcomed contagion," said the Center's Chief Development Officer, Sarah Lockery. Smiles, hidden by masks, twinkled in the eyes of people wanting to help. The Center's Auxiliary founder, Phoebe Styron, gathered and dropped off gifts from several STARS. "Phoebe told me that her friends and family were grateful to The Center for the opportunity to help. In that moment, she reminded me that love is contagious in 2020 too!"recalled Sarah with a bit of a tear. "After almost a year of trying to mitigate the spread of COVID-19 at the agency, essential employees continue to spread their magic each day they work. Having the support of the community is a reminder that while we social distance, we are not alone." CEO, Selma N. Ward, dressed as Santa, walked the agency campus to share her appreciation with her team of employees. With Santa at the helm, dedicated employees and a community eager to help, the children at the center are surrounded by cheer and warmth despite the weather on this rainy day. The Children's Center thanks everyone who has contributed and wishes a happy and healthy new year for all!
