Full Time Equipment / Yard Technician American Power Equipment has an open position for a full-time equipment / yard technician. The ideal candidate must have great attention to detail, responsible, reliable, good attitude, and trustworthy. This person would also be required to have experience operating light and med size machinery, and forklifts as well as having the mechanical aptitude to assemble new equipment. Job Description • Assist in receiving shipments of goods, including individual packages, large LTL shipments, and shipments of large zero turn mowers. • Unpackage and assemble handheld outdoor power tools as needed. • Unpackage and perform light assembly of lawn mowers as needed. • Assisting customers with loading and unloading purchases or rental items. • Assist in maintaining rental fleet, including cleaning, and preparing equipment for safe operation. • Assist is some light mechanical duties on rental fleet and new equipment (oil changes, air filter replacement). • Assist in keeping showroom stocked with retail items stored in warehouse. • Help keep property clean and organized. Position Qualifications • High School Degree or GED • Ability to work well with others and perform tasks without supervision. • Ability to communicate clearly and respectfully with customers. • Ability to comfortably operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and construction equipment. • Good communication skills and ability to efficiently execute tasks as instructed. • Physical ability to stand for long periods of time and lift as much as 75lbs regularly. • Reliable transportation. Locations & Hours Theodore & Saraland AL Monday – Friday, 7:30am – 4:30 (some Saturdays) Salary & Benefits Full time employment with seasonal overtime. Major Holidays Paid BCBS Health and Dental $12.00 - $16.00 per hour. Based on experience.
