APEX Wood Floors, a nationally recognized leader in design and innovation of high-quality, handcrafted hardwood flooring for over 40 years, seeks a full time Production Support associate to join our dynamic team. (This job is performed 100% out of our Lombard, IL shop.) In this newly created entry-level role, your skills in organizing materials, facilitating and conducting deliveries and shipments, and working with a shop production team will serve you well as you learn our business and support efforts to achieve our mutual goals. Primary Job Duties & Responsibilities: 1. Participate and/or serve as Crew Lead on material deliveries in the Chicagoland area: Able to drive a 20 foot box truck via busy Chicago streets to client job sites including high-rises and other buildings with specific load/unload requirements (ex., loading docks, elevator rules) 2. Vehicle maintenance and prep: Facilitate and assist with inspections (ex: maintenance, emissions) for our current fleet of 7 vehicles. Prepare/assist in loading necessary tools and materials for crews. 3. Materials and supplies: Accept incoming deliveries of shop materials and supplies; organize and label incoming items for shop team; coordinate and schedule outbound shipments. 4. Ongoing management and ordering of shop sundries stock. 5. Assist field installation and finishing teams as needed, and when schedule allows. Compensation package commensurate with experience/qualifications ($20-$25/hour with overtime pay option). Top candidates for this position will possess many of the following attributes: 1. At least 3 years related experience (ex., as a shop assistant or materials coordinator/handler in warehouse, factory or construction environments). 2. Demonstrated good judgment and 'on your feet' thinking. Solution-focused and resourceful. 3. Highly skilled at organizing their own work - and understanding how that fits into 'the big picture'. Knows how to prioritize and manage day-to-day tasks as well as new opportunities that arise. 4. Thrives in an energetic and collaborative entrepreneurial team environment. Curious, humble, unafraid to ask questions, coachable. 5. Detail oriented, with solid critical thinking, written and verbal communication skills. 6. Comfortable working with prominent project stakeholders including architects, builders, design vendors and luxury clients. 7. Long-term intent, with a desire to grow, learn and enhance skills. 8. Miscellaneous: a. Able to lift over 50 pounds b. Forklift experience is preferred A valid driver’s license and a reliable vehicle are required. NO CALLS, PLEASE.
