Excellent Pay for Aspiring Carpenter

Jobs

Los Angeles CA

Description

Hi, my name is Tyler, the owner of Oasis Outdoor Improvements. That's me up there - (scroll past my mug to see if this is the type of work you're interested in doing). As a carpenter, my specialty is in crafting beautiful wood fences and gates to improve outdoor living spaces and I'm looking to bring on the first member of my team! Seasoned construction vets and master carpenters need not apply. Your knowledge and experience has my respect, but I'm looking for a blank slate so to speak. Some experience won't hurt (carpentry or landscaping helps A LOT), but the most important thing to me is that you have a fun, positive attitude and willingness to learn a trade that will serve you a lifetime. Don't get me wrong, I'm no "expert" myself, but I'm all about personal growth. I'm always working to improve my craft so if you have an interest in learning how to carpenter, let's learn together! Yes, carpenter is a verb too. Alright, now that's out on the table let's talk about the role. Simply put, fence building is probably some of the hardest work you'll do. Over the course of a week you'll be carrying hundreds, if not thousands, of pounds of lumber and concrete while being assaulted by the California sun. You're gonna sweat your ass off. You're gonna get dirty. You're gonna use muscles you didn't know you had, but I'll be right there in the trenches with you working towards our goals. As they say, the juice is worth the squeeze! There's really nothing like stepping back at the end of the day looking at something you built knowing it will bring joy to someone for years to come. Words can't express the feeling of pride and accomplishment after a day of working with your hands. The homeowners we will be working for place a high value on good work and I do too. I understand it's expensive as hell to live here so if you are new(ish) to the trades and have common sense, you should expect $18-24 per hour for your efforts. Bonus incentives and occasional overtime are part of the deal too. At this time I'm wearing all the hats in the business and am unable to offer full-time work. This position is PART-TIME with a minimum of 3-4 days per week. There are no traditional benefits like health insurance, paid time off, or 401k. Still interested? Awesome! Send me an email with your name in the subject line. Attach your resume and help me help you by taking a minute to answer a few questions: 1. Why are you applying? - there's no right or wrong answer here, I want to know what interests you about this line of work. 2. How have you improved yourself or grown personally in the past year? 3. What are your hobbies/interests outside of work? If you do have construction experience, send a few photos of some projects you were a part of. If you have some tools, tell me about them! Looking forward to hearing from you! Check out our work on Instagram @oasisoutdoorimprovements
