Description

J.W. Dant first distilled bourbon as a teenager in 1836. J.W. Dant’s unique distilling method entailed running a copper pipe through a hollow poplar log, filling the pipe with fermented mash, and passing steam through the pipe. The brand changed hands several times in the mid-20th century, ending with Heaven Hill buying the J.W. Dant brand in 1993. More recently, J.W.’s great-great-great-grandson John Wallace “Wally” Dant decided to found a distillery to revive their family’s place in bourbon history. Wally bought up the land where the previous JW Dant Distillery was, but with Heaven Hill owning the "JW Dant" brand, Wally chose to name his distillery "Log Still" in honor of his ancestor's unique distillation method. You'll get to meet Wally in person and hear the amazing story of the bourbon brand and destination that he's building. Their new distillery features a 2,000-seat outdoor amphitheater, lodging options (the Homestead Bed & Breakfast, the Poplar Cottage, The Mansion), The Legacy event venue, wooded walking trails, a fully functional train depot, farm-to-table restaurant, and a 12-acre lake for fishing. Our event will be held at the Pegasus headquarters on Poplar Level Road in Louisville. We'll start with a welcome cocktail to be followed by tastings of Log Still's Monk's Road Bourbon. We'll have appetizers and awesome door prizes on hand, as always. You must be 21 or over to attend this event. The Bourbon Brotherhood is a monthly gathering of men who enjoy bourbon and camaraderie. Please drink responsibly.
