Depending on your background and skills, we have positions available for Prep Cooks, who will prepare foods in our production kitchen in advance of events, Production Cooks, who will prepare food items for service or serving guests at action stations as needed during events at Marcus Performing Arts Center. All culinary team members are responsible for the cleanliness and upkeep of the kitchen, and the appropriate stocking, rotation and labeling of food products. On-the-job training will be provided to ensure you're up to speed on our menus and procedures, but prior experience is required for each of these roles. Pay rates start at $15 for prep cooks, $17 for production and are based on experience. A minimum of 6 months experience in a professional kitchen is required for prep cooks, and production cooks should have at least 1 year’s experience in catering, banquet or production kitchens. PLUS get a $500 bonus once you're on the team for 90 days! A variety of positions and shifts are available to accommodate your schedule and experience, with hours ranging from 20 to 30+ per week. Requirements Saz's Hospitality Group is a big place; cooks on our teams may be scheduled to work on-site at any of our divisions, exclusive venues and private event sites. Cooks on our team will: • Consistently produce food products in accordance with existing recipes and procedures • Have strong knowledge of industry management techniques, especially FIFO • Follow all safety, sanitation and HACCP procedures as instructed • Knowledge of all basic cooking techniques and skills, including: knife skills, basic cuts, all cooking methods • Knowledge of basic equipment including: steamer, fryer, kettle, convection oven, combi oven, griddle • Basic understanding of herbs, spices, and various flavoring ingredients • Ability to roast, broil, braise, sauté, fry, and grill (including breakfast items) • Ability to work in a production capacity • Ability and flexibility to be continually rotated to different stations • Complete tasks as instructed and within the time frame assigned Essential job functions Squat, kneel, climb ladders or step stools as neededUse industrial cleaning chemicalsGrip objects and tools (including wet or slippery items); utilize fine motor skillsStand up to 12 hours at a timeLift up to 50 lbs to chest level and up to 30 lbs overheadAbility to communicate verbally in English; ability to communicate in Spanish beneficial but not requiredAbility to read English; ability to read and write Spanish beneficial but not requiredConsistent, timely attendanceUnderstanding of metric system of measurement Apply Here: https://recruiting.paylocity.c...
