Press release from Everett Community College: June 2, 2022 EVERETT, Wash. - Everett Community College Ocean Research College Academy (ORCA) students will present their research about the marine waters near Everett and Mukilteo starting at 4 p.m. on June 8. The Possession Sound Student Showcase and Talks are at ORCA's waterfront location, 1205 Craftsman Way, Suite 203, in Everett. Student researchers will present posters of their research, followed by two sessions of student presentations and a second poster session. Some students analyzed Possession Sound water temperature, salinity and dissolved oxygen trends. Other students researched trends in nutrients, plankton growth and heavy metals. A number of student projects explore underwater acoustics, as well as the presence and behavior of harbor seals, harbor porpoises and local river otters.
