Press release from the Delaware Technical Community College: May 25, 2022 Delaware Tech is proud of the student-athletes who represent the College. Athlete Spotlight honors one athlete each week on the Delaware Tech Athletics Instagram account for their athletic performance, teamwork, sportsmanship, and commitment to education. Conor Christie Conor Christie is a member of the men's lacrosse team, a graduate of Milford High School, and a middle-level math education major. Christie ended his two-years at Delaware Tech in style, leading the team to the 2022 NJCAA Region 19 Men's Lacrosse Championship and setting a new school record for most points in a season. He also led the nation in scoring and tied the school record for most goals in a game twice. For his two-year playing career, Christie had 87 goals, 51 assists, and 136 shots on goal. He is set to transfer to Wilmington University, where he will continue playing lacrosse. Brandon Schlabach Brandon Schlabach is a second-year member of the baseball team, a general business major, and a graduate of Delmarva Christian High School. Schlabach has provided leadership on and off the field for the baseball team since he joined the program. As the team's ace relief pitcher, Schlabach routinely enters games in pressure situations. This past season, he earned 4 saves in 30 innings pitched. Schlabach has also held a high GPA during his time on the baseball team, making the President's List and Dean's List multiple times. Lauren Smith Lauren Smith is a second-year member of the softball team, a general studies major, and a graduate of Snow Hill High School. Smith has been Delaware Tech's starting pitcher for the past two seasons, and finished her outstanding Delaware Tech career as a two-time region champion and a two-time district champion with a 24-3-2 (wins, losses, saves) record. She is also a two-time NJCAA Region 19 All-Region pitcher and a former Region 19 Pitcher of the Year. This press release was produced by the Delaware Technical Community College.
