Description

Since 2007, and the 10 years prior to it, America and the rest of the world entered a new era of technology and digital revolution changing all ways how people function, work, and play. This evolution is heading towards the “Singularity” where people will entirely merge with computers. The impact on people, especially younger Gen-Z (1996) and Gen-A (2012) will be indelible, and the far-reaching impact can only now be inferred. Adults have been deeply impacted by technology as well, and while not to the negative degree that younger people have but still in ways that can affect the aging process, medical and psychological health. According to the Center for Disease Control (CDC), since its onset in the USA early 2020 COVID-19 has infected over 80 million people and caused nearly 1 million fatalities (CDC, 2022). Quarantine of millions of Americans has led to significant health problems including mental illness, and substance use disorder (SUD). As statistics rise and people remain in semi quarantine practitioners look to find ways to deal with the burden of a pandemic and minimize ongoing impact in people’s lives. Hosted by Hau'oli Piha and presented by Dr. Sean O'Hara, Psy.D, NCAC I, SAP and Michele Navarro Ishiki, LSCW, CSAC.
