ORLAND PARK, IL — Orland Park will be featured in an upcoming issue of Chicago Magazine which lists homes within the suburb as a "good value." The June/July issue titled "Best Places To Live" includes the village among seven other suburbs in a "Where to Buy Now: Suburbs" roundup along with Lansing, Berwyn and Gurnee. "This is a wonderful honor for Orland Park," Mayor Keith Pekau wrote in a press release. "It's especially gratifying when a well-respected source like Chicago Magazine makes an unsolicited finding that recognizes our community's value." In the article, author Carissa Crawford noted the village's parkland, access to Cook County forest preserves, malls, golf courses and schools as part of the reason the suburb has good value for reasonably priced homes. "While those of us living here have known this all along, it is nice to be recognized for these qualities," Pekau said. The article also analyzed Orland Park's real estate market, which lists homes for sale from $219,000 to $675,000, both within Carl Sandburg High School's zone. According to real estate data from 2021, 642 single-family homes were sold within the village last year. Print copies of the magazine will be sold at local Whole Foods, Mariano's, Jewel, Walgreens and CVS stores. Read the entire edition here.
