Description

Great Pyrenees mix for rehoming. It's with a very very heavy heart we must find our baby a new home. Bonzo will be 3 in September and we've had him since he was only 9 weeks old. We are rehoming due to him biting our friends child along with some behavioral issues towards our own kids he has developed. Here is the good about Bonzo: he's a big old goofball who loves to play with you, he loves fetch especially with big chunks of wood, he has amazing recall off leash, he was raised around cats and bunnies and is completely fine with them, he likes other dogs at the dog park, he knows sit, lay down, go to bed, and "who did this?", He's fully house broken, neutered and kennel trained. The bad: he barks at anyone who comes to the door even if he knows them, he's a big guy who occasionally tries to jump up on you, he's bit a child (kid is okay has minor abrasion on leg), he does not like children in general (growling gets possessive and aggressive, etc), he has a thing about eating makeup and brushes left out, he pulls really hard on the leash (is great off leash), he hates getting nail trims, he has to be forced into a bath then leans on you the whole time, he thinks getting his hair brushed is a game he needs to run away from, he's really really allergic to pork (bloody diarrhea and the works even from pork bones), he has a sensitive tummy so don't change his food or if you do be very slow about it and still expect a few weeks of diarrhea, if you take him on a car ride anytime you stop or slow down he gets so excited he screams his head off until he gets to get out, he also can get a bit possessive for a bit when introduced to a new dog in HIS home but in the park and out and about he does well. He's a good boy mostly, very loyal and loves his mom and dad and our Aussie. He will be your best friend in the world. Would probably do great as a farm dog without kids. Must have at least a yard he can run around in, be an indoor out door dog, no kids and maybe someone who has more time to work on his issues or afford a great trainer. There is a rehoming fee, he's really one of a kind.
