Description

CAPE ST. CLAIR, MD — Officials said a Saturday evening house fire displaced two Cape St. Clair residents. Investigators believe the fire was accidental. The occupants called 911 around 11:55 p.m., reporting that their chimney and attic caught fire. Crews turned out to the 1400 block of Sharps Point Road to battle the blaze. Firefighters found flames in the walls and void areas around the chimney. The fire continued into the second floor and attic, an incident report noted. This spread made it challenging to quell the flames. A team of 42 firefighters controlled the blaze in about an hour.
