ASWA Selects 25 From West Alabama For All-State Softball Teams

TUSCALOOSA, AL — The 2022 high school softball season is in the books and 25 area athletes were awarded all-state selections this week by the Alabama Sports Writers Association. In addition to the all-state honors, Northside High pitcher Becca Leigh Chadwick was named AHSAA Class 4A player of the year, while 1A state champion and Holy Spirit ace Alyssa Faircloth took home 1A pitcher and player of the year honors. Holy Spirit coach Jeff Laubenthal was also named 1A Coach of the Year.
