DENVER, CO — Denver police officers shot and killed a man after a burglary was reported Monday in the city's Montclair neighborhood, police said.
The officers were called around noon to the 900 block of North Monaco Parkway after they received a report of three men breaking into a home.
The officers found the owner of the home shot to death outside the house and a woman suffering from a gunshot wound inside the house, according to the Denver Police Department. As of Monday night, the woman was in critical condition, police said.
The officers saw a man run away, and he was caught and arrested, according to police.
Several minutes later, the officers heard gunfire and saw another man trying to carjack someone, police said. Police shot the man, and he was taken to the hospital, where he died, according to police.
A third suspect likely took off in a black Honda sedan, police said. As of Monday night, he remains at large.
