Description
Stray collie mix (possibly Australian shepherd or husky mixed with collie) showed up at our house a couple of weeks ago. She decided she didn’t want to leave. I swear when she has hair, she looks more collie. In the pictures, she looks more husky but she definitely looks collie with her long hair. We have taken her to the vet. No chip. Got her updated on all shots, flea/tick meds and took her to the groomer. The vet estimates her age to be around 3 years old. She is SUPER SMART. She sits on command and knows the word no. She is not fond of the leash or a collar and tries to nip at you (but not hard) when you try to collar her. She does not or at least not yet, like to ride in the car. She has become attached to us in just the short time she’s been around and I think she would make a good pet for a couple or a single person. She follows us around like Velcro. Super sweet dog. I DON’T THINK SHE WOULD BE GOOD WITH CHILDREN only because she loves to be around her adult people. She follows us everywhere. I could be wrong but because we don’t know her history, I can’t really say how she would be. The vet said she does not have any heartworms (we bought her the preventative medicine for the next 5 months anyway) We took her to get groomed because she was COVERED in burrs and ticks. The vet gave us medicine which killed the ticks in 12 hours. She is now tick and burr free. She is a beautiful dog with long hair when not groomed but she had so much matted hair we had to get her shaved. She was also covered in hot spots. Those spots should be healed soon because the vet gave us antibiotics for her. We have spent $349 on vet stuff, $150 on dog food and animal supplies like a leash, collar, and treats and another $125 on grooming. We would like to recover at least $150 obo for her. She comes with her dog food, dog treats, dog bone toy, leash, collar, and rabies tag. She truly is a sweet girl but we are not home enough to have a pet. This sweet, smart girl needs to be with a loving owner who can appreciate the intelligence of a collie. I don’t know how she would be inside but if she isn’t house trained, I don’t think it would take much for her to be. She’s super smart. Please e-mail with any questions.
