Rhodesian Ridgebacks looking for their forever homes

Description
Applications for either Jake or Elwood must go through ridgeback rescue dot org but you can respond to this Craigslist posting with questions. We are their foster family and have had them since March Elwood (5-yo, neutered male, red collar) is etremely sweet. He loves children and gets along well with other dogs. He has made friends with his foster sister and neighborhood dogs. He likes to go for walks and cuddle up for a cozy nap on the couch or at your feet in his bed. He is very food motivated and an extreme counter surfer. This is not something that can be trained out of him. His new family will have to be very diligent in keeping him out of food. Elwood has an easily upset stomach. He will need to stay on the limited ingredient commercial diet his foster family has found works well. Other than tummy upset he is very healthy. He is good on walks, will jump into the bath for bath time and is excellent in the car. He would do well with another sibling. He gets along well with his foster sisterHe is good on walks, will jump into the bath for bath time and is excellent in the car. He would do well with another sibling. He gets along well with his foster sister and enjoys laying in the sun and chewing on toys and more than anything wants to love and be loved by his family. Jake (4-yo, neutered male, blue collar) is a darling, goof of a ridgeback who was surrendered when his primary caretaker died. He is a big boy of 93 lbs and is soft as velvet and very loving and trusting. He has an adorable kinked tail that goes in circles when he wags. He is leash reactive to other dogs but is starting to learn how to make new friends and loves to run at the park on a 50’ training leash. He gets along with his foster sister well but does want to be Alpha dog. He is still a playful pup and will chase his tail or run zoomies in the house. He also likes to cuddle for a cozy nap on the couch with his foster parents. Jake is social with people and adores children. Jake is house-trained and knows some basic commands. However, an obedience class will benefit him for confidence building and socialization. Jake has some separation anxiety and needs to know where is people are but will go to his crate willingly when his family leaves the house. Contrary to the current posting on ridgeback rescue, we feel the boys would be better placed in separate homes.
