Have you seen photographs of hot air balloons and wished you too could photograph these colorful floating air crafts? Now in its 38th year, the Festival of Balloons in Tigard, OR is a great place to see these amazing balloons up close and personal and capture some amazing photographs! Nothing says summer more than these colorful vessels dotting the sky just south of Portland. Aaron from Sigma and Tommy from Pro Photo Supply will be accompanying a small group of photographers to the festival and will be providing exclusive access to the Morning Launch event. They will also help photographers figure out what settings and gear to use to capture your best images of the balloons as they ascend into the morning sky. Sigma will have lenses on hand to try out with your camera that will give you just the advantage you need to get your best photo of the balloons! Recommended Gear to Bring: Your Camera (no cameras will be supplied on-site, so you'll need to bring one with you)Charged battery (and possibly spares)An empty memory cardLens(es)Tripod (if you desire)Speedlight Flashes (optional)Flashlight/Headlamp (so you can see where you're stepping)Portable seating (if needed)MEETING PLACE: TBA NOTE: The balloon launch is weather and pilot judgment-dependent. Depending on weather conditions, most balloons launch by 6:30 AM (launch prep begins at 5:15 AM). Typically balloons fly south toward Tualatin and do not return to the launch field at Cook Park. Due to the real-time decision of the balloon launch, Pro Photo Supply will not be offering refunds on this event. Your registration for this event includes a full weekend pass to the Festival.
