Description
A doula exists to “mother the mother”. All new mothers need extra hands, a voice of wisdom, and listening ears.
25 years professional and practical experience in:
Postpartum family physical and mental care such as lactation, newborn care, cloth diapering, sibling care, light house keeping, meal preparation, errands and much more.
I have obtained certifications in birth doula, post-partum doula, herbology, nutrition, early childhood education, WIC/EBT, postpartum counseling, infant CPR, and play based learning.
I also have raised three children, operated a birth doula service, attended over 200 births, and helped hundreds more families with their postpartum family needs.
I retired from the birth doula service in 2012 but continue to take a client, or two, at a time to serve as a “mothers helper”.
Rates:
General rate is $150 for a two hour visit.
Many families would like me to come two hours a day for one week. The charge for this is $500/week.
Some people prefer to call me “adopt a grandma” although I feel I am way to young for that.
