Help is needed to clear vegetation around trees with inactive eagle nests to protect the nests during the prescribed fire season. Volunteers will be led by stewardship staff to use brush cutters, loppers, rakes and other equipment to cut the vegetation and move it away from the trees. This is a tough physical job!
Volunteers must be over 18 years old, must register to participate, bring their own water, snacks, bug and sun protection, and meet at the welcome center at 8:30am. Please also consider brining eye protection (or sunglasses) and work gloves. All other equipment will be provided by The Nature Conservancy.
The group will likely be transported in large open air vehicles to access the volunteer location. Boarding and disembarking the vehicles requires large steps up and down and the off-road drive can be very bumpy.
