Cuties Los Angeles in collaboration with Flora Pacha present: Falling in Love with Plants: Plantsexuality and Salve-Making Workshop. This workshop will be both a conversation and a medicine making space. In this session we will talk about falling in love with the non-humxn. Why should we fall in love with natural resources? How do we remember how to be in love with ancient seeds? What does it mean to fall in love with plants? Ecosexuality is not new, human beings have created relations with our ecosystem and non-humxn-animals since millennia. This session is a feminist Queer plant-loving take on love and the radical power of exploring relations beyond human. Your host, Loba, will be bringing some very special infused oils from their own apothecary and we will close this session by creating a medicinal salve you will take home. What is a salve? A salve is an ointment, cream, or balm with soothing, healing, or calming effects. Maybe you want to take home a calendula salve to incorporate into your daily luxurious self care routine? Or maybe you want to take home a salve to apply after an impact session to aid with bruising... we will have options! Come ready to learn about plants and some herbal magic to help us rekindle our plant relations. COVID protocols: Masks are required for this indoor event regardless of vaccination status. They will be provided at the entrance. The presenter will be 6 feet away from the crowd and mostly unmasked since it is hard to facilitate with a mask on. Presenter will test before the event. About Loba: Loba (they/Loba) is a Queer Peruvian migrant herbalist, farmer, full spectrum doula and presenter under the project Flora Pacha. They have been facilitating workshops throughout the continent for over a decade. Loba currently runs a high desert mini farm in so-called New Mexico where they grow crops for seed saving, food and medicine.
