Featuring master musicians from both genres, Rubi Ate The Fig tells the story of the desert, and with mystical lyrics and exotic sets, transports the listener to another world. See them live at Almost Famous Wine Lounge, an award-winning, new tasting room and venue located on Vasco Road in the heart of Livermore's wine, spirits and brewery district. Almost Famous Wine makes fifteen wines in diverse styles, and earned 32 top industry awards since our debut last year. There is a two drink minimum per guest. Reserved table seating is available for purchase at this show. Non reserved seating is otherwise available first come, first served. Outside food is welcome, but please bus your table of any food items when you are finished. Only Almost Famous wines can be consumed on premise, but with a menu of 15 wines in diverse styles, there's something for everyone. ALAMEDA COUNTY MASK MANDATE: We wanted to reach out to you to let you know that Alameda County has reinstated their mask mandate as of 06/03/22. When you arrive, you will be asked to wear a mask inside when you are not actively drinking at your seating area. Make sure to wear a mask when walking around the venue, if you are dancing or watching close up to the stage, or ordering at the bar. The health and safety of our staff, patrons and musical artists means the world to us. In addition to following Alameda County’s mask mandate, we have installed plasma air technology into the venue, which uses bipolar ionization to neutralize bacteria, viruses, pollen and smoke from the air. Featuring Master musicians from both genres, Rubi Ate The Fig tells the story of the Desert and with mystical lyrics and exotic sets, transports the listener to another world. “Led Zeppelin and Mahavishnu traveling through the Desert - stopping to have tea with Grace Slick” ABOUT THE BAND: Sharón Eliashar - Compositions, Vocals, Guitar Born in Jerusalem, raised in the low desert of California, Sharón studied classical composition, ethno-musicology and Middle-Eastern Percussion. Sharón incorporates her study of Middle Eastern rhythms into her western songwriting, writing songs with fluid time changes and a Middle-Eastern groove. Sharón has spent much time with the Bedouins of the Sinai Desert, a profound source of inspiration for her music and evocative lyrics. Danny Montgomery - Drums Danny is a San Francisco native, living in Spain and working most of the year in Europe. He studied orchestral percussion and composition at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music, and has recorded and performed with Percy Sledge, Ray Charles, Billy Paul, Mose Allison, Taj Mahal, Jack Sheldon, Johnette Napolitano and Jerry Harrison. Polly Tapia Ferber - Dumbeq, Frame Drum Percussionist Polly Tapia Ferber is a music educator, performer, and recording artist who specializes in hand percussion from the Middle East, Turkey, North Africa, the Balkans, and Spanish Andalucia. She is noted for her melodic style of playing on darabukah (middle-eastern drum), frame drum, riqq (middle-eastern tambourine), and cajon (Spanish wooden box-drum). Ali Paris - Kanun Ali Paris captivates audiences worldwide with his unique fusion of middle eastern and western music styles, highlighted by both technical virtuosity and emotional expression. he plays the quanun, a rare middle-eastern 76-string zither that dates back to the 14th century. Kenny Blye, Electric Bass Kenny Blye is a uniquely creative bass player, having studied with the great Motown Jamie Jamerson, Kenny has toured extensively with theatre productions such as "Road Grease" and "Godspell". He has played with Fanien, Nancy Nevins, Sweetwater, King Curtis and many others. LEARN MORE AT THEIR WEBSITE ABOUT DAVID LANDON Singer, songwriter and guitarist David Landon brings over 30 years of experience from the stage and studio to every note he plays. In the early days of David’s professional career (circa 1990), David lived and performed in Paris, France where he was a steady fixture in the European club and festival circuit. Though life in Paris was truly wonderful for the American ex-pat musician, David wished for something greater then the regional success he had achieved abroad and so he returned to the US in 1995 and settled in the SF Bay Area to further pursue his musical vision.
