BELCAMP, MD — After a 3-year-old girl died following a reported cardiac arrest in Belcamp on Friday night, an Essex man was identified as a homicide suspect. Randolph James Mack, 43, was taken into custody at his home in Baltimore County early Saturday morning, according to the Harford County Sheriff's Office. Mack was known to the child, investigators said. The girl was found in the living room of a home in the 1200 block of Ashmead Square, where authorities were called Friday night for a reported youth in cardiac arrest. Medics and deputies tried to save her life but the girl was pronounced deceased upon her arrival at Upper Chesapeake Medical Center in Bel Air at 11:58 p.m., officials said. Her body was taken to the medical examiner for determination of the cause of death. Investigators reported she had bruises consistent with child abuse. Officials did not release the name of the child. Anyone with information can call Detective Moro at 443-409-3154.
