We encourage donors to give as much as they'd like—the minimum donation for this film screening is $25 PER PERSON.* Dame "The Drummer" Taylor is proud to announce the Purple Carpet Premiere of Black Daddy: The Movie, this June 19th in Oakland California. This premiere will include a reception, film viewing, followed by a question and answer session with the casts and filmmaker. Movie Synopsis: “Black Daddy: The Movie” is unadulterated storytelling from the black father's point of view because it is often overlooked and the assumption is that black fathers are not involved in their children's lives. It is a passion project covering a space and purpose that is near to our hearts; black fatherhood. I followed the lives of a few like-minded men as they told compelling stories of the joy, pain and the complexity and triumph in what it means to be a black father in America. The project has original music by Dame Drummer and new music in collaboration with other Oakland-based musicians Mike Blankenship, Kev Choice, Grand Nationxl, Karega Bailey, and Michael Austin to name a few." This event coincides with "Black Daddy: The Brunch" happening on Saturday, June 18th at Kingston 11 Cuisine.
