Press release from the City of Reno: June 1, 2022 In our ongoing commitment to keep citizens and media informed, we've summarized the outcomes of a few key agenda items from today's Regular Meeting of the Reno City Council. Staff Reports with more information are linked to below: Reno Stead Water Reclamation Facility (RSWRF) Council heard two RSWRF items: B.2 - Council approved an Agreement with the Washoe County School District for provision of recycled water from the Reno Stead Water Reclamation Facility for landscape irrigation at O'Brien Middle School in an amount not to exceed $336,000. D.1 - There was a presentation and discussion on the use of the flow shave for sewer capacity as it relates to the Sewer Capacity Allocation Program for the Reno Stead Water Reclamation Facility. Council directed staff to use an additional 100,000 gallons per day of sewer capacity at RSWRF from the flow shave project for new development. B.4 - Public Safety Center Council approved an Energy Performance Contract with Ameresco Inc. in an amount not to exceed $4,749,970 from General Capital Improvement Fund and Police Facilities Impact Fees. The Public Safety Center project will include: 401kW rooftop solar array 250kW battery module Roof replacement A lighting retrofit of 27 parks around the city Implementation of this project will result in projected savings of 221,274 kilowatt hours (kWh) of electric energy, and generate 776,486 kWh of electricity from solar energy annually. G.1 - Citizen Appointments to Boards and Commissions Council approved the following citizen appointments: G.1.1 - Trish Greif (reappointment) and Sonya Lucatero (reappointment) to the Urban Forestry Commission. G.1.2 - Emmanuel Gutierrez, Maricela Gutierrez-Rodriguez, Jennifer Hildebrand, and Janna Moyer to the Ward 3 Neighborhood Advisory Board. G.1.3 - Lilith Baran to the Reno Arts and Culture Commission. G.2 - Elected Official Appointments to Boards and Commissions G.2.1 - Council appointed Hillary Schieve to the Regional Transportation Commission (RTC).
