OAK LAWN, IL — An Elgin man is accused of firing a gun at a residence following an argument with his girlfriend. Lazeric Lipscomb, 19, appeared Friday before Cook County Judge Donald on a charge of reckless discharge of a firearm and aggravated assault. Around 9:20 p.m. May 30, Oak Lawn police responded to a domestic disturbance where a shot was fired in the 10800 block of South Komensky Avenue. A woman told officers she was having an argument with Lipscomb while both were parked in his car on her driveway. The prosecutor said the woman had been in an on again, off again relationship with Lipscomb. Her mother came out and told Lipscomb to leave as the woman was getting out of his car. Lipscomb is said to have told both that he was going to bring his brothers back and "shoot this place up." As Lipscomb was backing his silver Cadillac out of the driveway, he fired a round at the house, the prosecutor said. By the time police arrived, the prosecutor said Lipscomb had left the area. Oak Lawn police found Lipscomb in Elgin, where he was taken into custody June 2 and charged. The prosecutor told the judge that Lipscomb has no prior criminal background. Officers were not able to find a gun. Lipscomb's attorney said his client wasn't a flight risk. He owns his own recording business and his father could post $500 bond. Judge Havis released Lipscomb on a $10,000 I-bond. He is also to surrender any firearms to police while his case is pending. Lipscomb is due back in court June 28 in Bridgeview.
