Press release from the St. Louis County Library: June 3, 2022 St. Louis County Library Foundation's Favorite Author Series presents inspirational author Sandra Thompson Williams for a discussion and signing of "Wake Up and Pray: Your Prayer Partner has Answers from A-Z." The event will take place on Saturday, June 11, at 2:00 p.m. at Florissant Valley Branch, 195 New Florissant Road S, Florissant, MO 63031. The program is free and open to the public. Books will be available for purchase at the event. Prayer is the one standing invitation that is overlooked, discounted and ignored. "Wake Up and Pray" reveals 26 topics expressed in alphabetical order that give us reasons to pray. It challenges us to move from obligatory and neutral prayers to those we believe are being heard by God. The chapters are filled with experiences that are captivating and colorful. Like children responding to the call to come out and play, you will respond to the call to "come on and pray." Sandra Thompson Williams is a native of Saint Louis, Missouri. She received her Bachelor's degree in communication from Saint Louis University. She has authored seven books. Her previous publications include "The Last Three Tickets to Heaven," "Eating the Fruit of Lies" and "The Invocation," all novels; "Even Better than Aunt Harvey's Greens," a devotional; and co-author of "Ye Shall Receive Power: The Spiritual Life of Vera Boykin," a biography. She has also authored a Bible study book titled "Seven Miracles of Prevailing Praise." She is a feature writer for The Whole Truth, a national magazine published by The Church of God in Christ.
