Press release from the City of Hermosa Beach: June 02, 2022 SUMMARY OF ADOPTED URGENCY ORDINANCE NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Hermosa Beach City Council introduced and adopted an Urgency Ordinance at the Regular City Council Meeting held on May 24, 2022, and is summarized as follows: Urgency Ordinance 22-1447U Extending a Temporary Permit Program for Outdoor Dining/Seating and Outdoor Retail Display to Assist Restaurants, Food, and Retail Establishments During Covid-19; and Extending Temporary Lane Closures to Accommodate Outdoor Permits; and Setting Forth the Facts Constituting Such Urgency: The Urgency Ordinance will extend through January 1, 2023 the City's temporary outdoor dining and retail permit program ("Outdoor Permit Program") and the temporary reconfiguration and closure of lanes on Hermosa Avenue and Pier Avenue ("Downtown Lane Reconfiguration Program") to assist restaurants and retail businesses during the COVID-19 pandemic. The ordinance sets forth requirements and conditions to obtain permits for outdoor dining or outdoor retail displays on the public right-of-way and private property. The ordinance also extends closure of the following street segments to vehicular traffic to accommodate the Outdoor Permit Program through January 1, 2023: I, Myra Maravilla, City Clerk of the City of Hermosa Beach, DO HEREBY CERTIFY that the above and foregoing Urgency Ordinance was duly passed and adopted at a Regular City Council Meeting held on May 24, 2022, by the following roll call vote: AYES: Councilmembers Armato, Campbell, Massey, Mayor Pro Tem Jackson, and Mayor Detoy NOES: None.
