Drummer/Multi-instrumentalist/Producer Looking For Band, Project, Etc.

Hey there! I'm a 34 year old drummer, guitarist, bassist, vocalist-ish (recording is my best friend), electronics/circuit-bender/experimentalistismer, I have a ton of wacky instruments and play a mean triangle. I love dabbling in all kind of traditional as well as DIY/experimental processes. Born and raised in Miami, and was heavily involved in the underground/emerging(/emerged) Miami music scene for ages. I've been playing/recording music since I was living in da single digits. I've been in and out of headlining bands, most recently a more electronic/dance/acidjazz-leaning Mars Volta-esque thing which was lots of fun. I've also headlined as a solo act playing a weird amalgamation of psychedelic rock / freak folk / drum&bass / IDM / hiphop / breakcore / glitch kind of ordeal, somewhere along the lines of Tobacco, AFX, Squarepusher, Boards of Canada, you know the game.. And, maybe it's worth noting, I did attend audio engineering school at SAE Miami back in 2009. I like to think of myself as an open-minded, eclectic musician and sound designer, and my influences have a vast range from whatever.. noise to psych rock to jazz to hippity trip hop to IDM to kraut rock to post punk to prog rock to noisy noise to glitchy witch hunts and etc etc etc so on and so forth and what have you. If interested in starting even a duo, to get the ball rolling and play some gigs (it's a new world having NO connects up here having recently moved, when in south FL I could ask one of several people for a gig on any given night), then let's talk/jam/brainstorm/hangout/write some gobbledigook! I've made full-band-sounding tracks all by my lonesome, so a 10-piece band isn't totally necessary (but would be fun..). I'm also a videographer/filmmaker with tons of cameras, even got a couple big-ass handheld VHS camcorders.. and I actively practice visual art as well.. live visualizations, 3d mapping, coding.. documentary filmmaking.. unreal engine, cinema 4d, after effects, photoshop.. cover art, album art, single art, etc. Anything an established band needs, I'm interested in those projects as well. Also interested in ANY kind of project: - lyric-centric rappers looking for crazy eclectic producer - podcasts - music video production - noise projects - audio/visual art installations - game scoring - short/feature film scoring - mixing / mastering for bands already doing their thing - anything you can think of, let's talk Also important -- I'm really a no-drama kind of guy. With different personalities and different ideas, I understand how things can sometimes clash. But with tons of experience from trios to big bands to navigating the scene solo, I like to approach things with a light-hearted demeanor but I do mean business and music is my passion. I treat people how I want to be treated; this cliche exists for a reason. Anyways, enough babbling.. Let's discuss projects! - C. James
