Softcore Funk Band Looking for Consolidated Soloists

Meets

Baton Rouge LA

Description

Current SingStar champion and former cellist (two years of experience—4th-5th grades) looking to form new band in the Baton Rouge area to play children’s parties/wakes/brises from Port Allen to Walker. Band’s concept is a 22nd century take on the softcore funk genre—heavy emPHASis on 1970s and 80s movie soundtracks, especially those songs featured heavily in shopping/training montages. Looking for a toy pianist, kazoodler, recorder artist, triangle dinger, tambourinist, and snare drummer only (NO other drummers). No vocal talents required, just a sincere enthusiasm to learn the nuances of Corsican polyphonic singing. Post-post funk infections, early 2000s streaky highlights, and Midsommer-style aesthetic REQUISITE. Also considering collabs with supercool 80s pop or Mustang Sally and Brown Eyed Girl covers bands. Let's Keep BR Weird and slop around in hot funk until we reach bliss and beyond. No one wants to actually hear original music so we’ll be delighting the hoi polloi with their favorite instantly-recognizable music montage standards. The children and parents will be highly encouraged to sing along BUT ONLY in the style of Corsican polyphony (NON. NEGOTIABLE.). South Baton Rouge Zaddies and Yummy Mummies can’t get enough of this strange yet familiar funk fantasy and love to sway along as they slowly paste their 30A stickers to their foreheads. Your own artistic visions will be met with healthy skepticism. Influences are The Free Design, circus music, Kenny Loggins, Parliament Funkadelic, and the Male Voice Choir of Sartène. You WILL do this. Email Allie if interested. You can check out premiere music montage examples in Rocky IV, Top Gun, Pretty Woman, National Lampoon’s European Vacation, and Joe Vs The Volcano.
