I realize that you, the OP, probably do not have the advantage of a quality education. Perhaps you were even homeschooled. But, I have to wonder if your post is a product of ignorance or you are just being disingenuous.
Chicago has a lot of gun violence, and it has relatively strict gun laws. This proves nothing. It is like saying that your Uncle Fred goes to church every Sunday, and he is a very happy person, therefore people who go to church every Sunday are happier than people who don't. Both are examples of anecdotal evidence, as opposed to empirical evidence. Plus your example is a result of confirmation bias. I will let you Google the meanings of those terms.
To get a truer picture of how gun laws impact gun violence, you need to look at multiple examples, and you need to compare apples to apples.
I could point to Japan as an example of how gun control is an effective means of reducing shooting deaths. However, it would be intellectually dishonest of me if I did not mention that Japan's culture is also a major factor.
