Hi, I'm Toblerone The shelter wants me to be an "only dog," but it was the small dog in my last home that was mean to me. It makes no sense that they returned me! Why am I E-listed? There are two reasons… stress in kennel and I need medical treatment for ear infections that the shelter cannot provide. It is inhumane to keep me here any longer!! I must get out or the shelter will kill me any moment! I really am a Big Love Bug!! I’m a 6-year-old, neutered, brown, Chinese Shar-pei/Rhodesian Ridgeback mix (70 lbs.). I had been a long-timer at the shelter and was so excited when I finally got adopted. Sadly, I was returned within 24 hours for not getting along with one of the resident chihuahuas that snapped at me. I thought adopters were supposed to give me time to relax and slowly introduce me to their dogs. Well, that didn’t happen, and now I must be the only dog in the home. Volunteers say: I'm VERY loving, affectionate, calm, and well-mannered. I'm curious and love to sniff and explore. I love dog walks and I’m decent on leash, I “sit” for treats and take them gently. I love pets, kiddie pools, toys, and playing ball. I need out of this noisy, chaotic place that stresses me out!! And I need to see an outside vet ASAP to help me with these uncomfortable ear infections. They hurt! I need pledges that can go directly to an adopter’s vet or to a rescue that takes me. The shelter recommends a family introduction and that children in the home be 5+. When I get home, I will need time to de-stress and relax and get to know everyone in the family.
