VA Man Indicted By Grand Jury In Fatal Main St. Shooting Of Cabbie

NEW ROCHELLE, NY — Virginia resident Percell Ross Blakely was indicted for robbing and fatally shooting a New Rochelle cab driver last year, Westchester County District Attorney Miriam Rocah announced today. Blakely of Covington, Virginia, was indicted by a Westchester County Grand Jury for murder in the first degree, two counts of murder in the second degree, two counts of robbery in the first degree and criminal possession of a weapon in the second degree. The 52-year-old was arraigned on Thursday and is being held without bail. On Oct. 14, 2021, at approximately 2:46 a.m., Blakely robbed and shot 62-year-old Andres Valenzuela on Main Street in New Rochelle, according to the indictment. The victim was taken to New Rochelle Hospital, where he died. The department was assisted in the murder investigation by the FBI's Westchester Safe Streets Task Force, the Real Time Crime Center of the Westchester County Department of Public Safety, the Covington Police Department, the Fairfield Police Department and the New Haven Police Department.
