Summary: • Responsible for all locks, keys and door hardware for all structures on campus. • Perform all painting interior/exterior projects. • Repair all damaged walls or replacement walls. • Repair all vacuums on campus. • Repair all damaged windows. • Fill all vehicles with fuel and maintain records of fuel consumption. • Assist other employees in maintenance of campus ground and roadways. • Assist other employees in replacement and placement of campus trees & flowers. • Assist in plowing and other removal of snow and ice during winter weather. • Perform recycle duties weekly. • Assist other employees in the gathering of all refuse from campus facilities weekly. • Perform routine repair of shower doors and other plumbing problems. • Perform clearing of all plugged sinks, tubs, etc. • Replace; repair lighting fixtures and replacement of all bulbs for campus facilities. • Driver on the 14-passenger vans, in support of faculty/student activities. • Assist students with luggage during arrivals and departures. • Assist in special events i.e. Graduation, Japan Week, etc. • Perform janitorial services on a continual basis in and around the Maintenance facility. • Assist and support all other grounds and Maintenance staff. Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. A valid Washington State Driver’s License is required. Language Ability: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to speak effectively to internal or external visitors. Math Ability: Ability to work with simple mathematical concepts such as addition, subtraction, division and multiplication. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions and percentages, and ratios to practical situations. Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a few concrete variables in situations where standardization exists. Ability to listen to and apply instructions. Ability to request guidance as needed. Computer Skill: Intermediate level ability to utilize database spreadsheets and other related programs. Physical Requirements: Some lifting and carrying of items of not more than 50 pounds. May be required to climb ladders and other structures as part of an installation process or troubleshooting or maintenance activities. Pulling, kneeling, and twisting may be required for short periods of time.
