SAN FRANCISCO, CA — Another mystery monolith has popped up in California. This one, apparently made of gingerbread, has been called a "Christmas miracle" for when it was spotted. The gigantic gingerbread monolith was first noticed on a hilltop in Corona Heights Park in San Francisco on the morning of Dec. 25. It even had icing and gumdrops, according to a report from ABC 7 News. Some visitors even took a bite, The Guardian reported. A mysterious gingerbread monolith appeared at corona heights park. Had it not collapsed, local officials had planned to leave it upright. "Looks like a great spot to get baked," San Francisco Recreation and Parks Department General Manager Phil Ginsburg told KQED. "We will leave it up until the cookie crumbles." The mysterious object is the latest of a string of monolith sightings across the world over the past month. The first of the bizarre installations showed up in Utah's remote, otherworldly Red Rock Country. After a second one briefly appeared in a Romanian forest, another shiny metal monolith was discovered on a hiking trail in Atascadero, halfway between San Francisco and Los Angeles. The tall, silver structure drew hikers to the area after photos of the first California monolith were posted on social media. Both the silver monoliths in Utah and Atascadero have since vanished.
