Northbrook Seniors To Lend Helping Hand With Food Drive To Aid Pantry

NORTHBROOK, IL — Northbrook senior citizens are pitching in to address a shortage of food at the Northbrook Township Food Pantry, which assists local residents who struggle with food insecurity. Residents who live at the Northbrook Senior Center are working in conjunction with Whitehall of Deerfield and are collecting non-perishable groceries that will be used to supply food to the food pantry. The local seniors are participating in the food drive and will work with other volunteers to collect the groceries on June 10. The Drive-up drop-off for the pantry will run between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. on June 10 and will take place at the Leisure Center parking lot, which is located at 3323 Walters Ave. in Northbrook. Some of the most needed items include oatmeal, coffee, tea, canned fruit, granola bars, and canned protein.
