Join us on Saturday, June 11 from 2:00 to 3:30 as we welcome architect and ikebana teacher Ravi GuneWardena of the Sogetsu School of Ikebana, Los Angeles who will talk about the history of the Sogetsu School in Tokyo and its collaborations with artists. The conversation will be followed by a demo of three arrangements (from a simple basic arrangement to an advanced freestyle arrangement) and a discussion with Frances Anderton on the relevance of the art form today.
The audience will also have an opportunity to view the completion of the large ikebana work made of unconventional materials (recycled construction scraps) with the addition of fresh plant material.
