Role: A Service Technician has a variety of responsibilities at Dixon Pool & Spa. Each day will present new challenges, including repairing, quoting, and installing most pool equipment; opening and closing pools; and measuring, preparing, and installing pool liners and safety covers. You will get hands-on training with an experienced buddy to guide you through our processes for each type of job. We will also supply support after you have taken over the pools in case you need a hint or back-up. A work vehicle and all gear will be provided, and the skills you develop will make you highly valued. Physical Requirements: This job is very physical, so you must be able to do the following: Move over or under different types of terrain in all-weather while carrying tools and equipment Ability to operate and lift weight-bearing equipment, such as the power vacuum, bags of salt, or buckets of various chemicals (that can weigh up to 75 pounds). Technical Requirements: Beyond the physical requirements, you need the following skills: High school diploma or equivalent required. Some college preferred. At least 1 year of experience in the pool industry and be CPO certified. An understanding of high voltage electrical systems, complex swimming pool plumbing, and hydrodynamic flow. Ability to productively communicate job details or issues with customers and dispatchers through verbal and written communications, especially when under pressure. A valid driver’s license with satisfactory driving record within company-required standards. Driving to and from pool/spa sites with equipment and chemicals onboard, including during inclement weather, is essential. Accuracy when tracking inventory and billing parts or chemicals to customers. In the Field: Every customer is unique, and so is their pool and home, so all service techs should be comfortable working in a variety of conditions, for example: We will service customers in all weather except thunderstorms, snowstorms, and extreme weather. Consistent and punctual attendance. The ability to work overtime or weekends when scheduled. Out of the box thinkers. You must be able to work with little supervision and have the ability to apply common sense, experience, and theory towards problem solving and decision making.
